Workshop: Nonprofit Turnaround: Leading Your Organization From Struggle to Success
The 2100 Building

Do you feel your organization struggles too much, and/or sometimes makes the wrong decisions on major issues?  This workshop is designed for nonprofit leaders interested in learning how to strengthen a struggling nonprofit. With between 25% and 50% of all nonprofits in crisis, and an economy still struggling to improve, this workshop is particularly timely.

Based on national research and the trainer’s recently published book, "Nonprofit Turnaround, A Guide for Nonprofit Leaders, Consultants and Funders," this workshop focuses on organizational diagnosis and recognizing problem symptoms, and strategies for successful turnaround, including improvements in communications, culture, decision making processes and financial management.

By the end of the session, participants will better understand:

  • Processes to diagnose their organizations’ capacity and effectiveness, including recognizing the difference between symptoms and root causes of organizational performance issues,
  • How to lead their organizations through an often complex turnaround process in which multitasking is required, and
  • A research-based rationale for making decisions that may feel uncomfortable.

Trainer: Jan Glick has devoted more than 25 years to refining a model approach for nonprofit performance improvement, and specializes in executive leadership development, strategic planning, turnarounds and mergers.  Since founding his firm in 1996, he has played a pivotal role in transforming the organizational performance of over 100 clients. Jan has developed several research-based methodologies that help achieve powerful results for high performing organizations as well as organizations in distress.  Jan’s workshops on turnarounds and executive leadership have received national acclaim, and his book, "Nonprofit Turnaround, A Guide for Nonprofit Leaders, Consultants and Funders," has been nominated for the 2011 Alliance for Nonprofit Management’s Terry McAdams Book Award as the most inspirational and useful new book published which makes a substantial contribution to nonprofit management.
